NotesRelated Note: The original bill of sale signed by Nathaniel Jocelyn came with the portrait. It notes that Jocelyn painted both Law and his wife, at $40 apiece. The total bill was $80, plus $1 for a box. It is signed "New Haven Decr 30th 1831 / Recd payment Nathl Jocelyn".
