DescriptionTwo men in the foreground are bending over what appears to be a grindstone. A third man stands looking on, holding what appears to be some kind of agricultural implement. Two of the men wear straw hats. A rake leans against the ell of a center-chimney saltbox frame house behind them. A well with a long wellsweep is at the right. A hay wagon is on a dirt road in the left background. The house is surrounded by large trees and bushes. Rail fences line the road in the background. Fields and hills are in the distance.
