DescriptionShoe made of golden tan silk with a woven dot, embroidered at the toe in a long, narrow teardrop-shape with gold-tone metal sequins and coiled metal thread. The high, narrow, Louis ("Italian") heel is covered with shiny-coated white paper. The latchets cross the instep and are held with a small, square, gold-tone metal buckle. The tongue is short and square. The continuous leather sole covers the front of the heel. The shoe is straight, but wear marks indicate that it was worn on the right foot. The silk is lined with plain-woven linen, and the inside of the sole is lined with white leather.
