DescriptionA decorated Christmas tree is surrounded by presents. Ornaments include tinsel, beads, and an American flag as well as glass Christmas ornaments. An easel blackboard to the left of the tree has the the words "For Muriel Armstrong From Santa" written on it. Other presents include Denslow's One Ring Circus And Other Stories, a Sewing Set, Bradley's Toy Village, and everal dolls and toy houses. A bookcase full of books, some with decorated bindings, is at the right. A Vase with flowers and leaves in it and a portrait in an elaborate frame are on the bookcase. What appear to be blankets are on a wicker chair at the left. Framed pictures are on the walls.
NotesSubject Note: The room is the same as in 1995.36.1579 and 1995.36.1580, but the tree and the presents around it are different. (Agins 8/1/2013)

Subject Note: Muriel Armstrong was born on June 25, 1914. She was the daughter of David F. Armstrong and Helen Armstrong. The family lived in Groton, Connecticut. (Finlay 11/20/2013)
