DescriptionA decorated Christmas tree is in the corner of a room. The Christmas ornaments on the tree include popcorn chains and bead chains, a jack-olantern and a bird. Some appear to be homemade. Christmas presents, including a large doll and the books, Raggedy Anne Stories, Peter Rabbit Goes to School, and Jack and Jill Painting Book, are arranged beneath the tree. A bookcase containing books, some with decorated bindings, is at the right. A clock and candles in candlesticks are on the bookcase. Framed pictures are on the wall. A potted plant is on a table at the left.
NotesSubject Note: This image is similar to 1995.36.1579. (Agins 7/30/2013)

Subject Note: The Christmas tree is presumably in the living room of the Armstrong family home in Groton, Connecticut. The same room appears in 1995.36.1583 with a blackboard bearing the name "Muriel Armstrong." Muriel Armstrong was born on June 25, 1914 and was the daughter of David F. Armstrong and Helen Armstrong. The family lived in Groton. (Finlay 11/20/2013)
