DescriptionA decorated Christmas tree is in the corner of a room. The Christmas ornaments on the tree include popcorn chains and bead chains, a jack-olantern and a bird. Some appear to be homemade. Christmas presents, including a large doll and the books, Raggedy Anne Stories, Peter Rabbit Goes to School, and Jack and Jill Painting Book, are arranged beneath the tree. A bookcase containing books, some with decorated bindings, is at the right. A clock and candles in candlesticks are on the bookcase. Framed pictures are on the wall. A potted plant is on a table at the left.
NotesSubject Note: This image is similar to 1995.36.1579. (Agins 7/30/2013)Subject Note: The Christmas tree is presumably in the living room of the Armstrong family home in Groton, Connecticut. The same room appears in 1995.36.1583 with a blackboard bearing the name "Muriel Armstrong." Muriel Armstrong was born on June 25, 1914 and was the daughter of David F. Armstrong and Helen Armstrong.
