DescriptionA young girl stands holding a large doll. Behind her on the wall, what appears to be a telescope is placed horizontally on brackets with two photographs on top of it. A framed picture of a naval scene hangs on the wall above. A radiator is directly behind the girl, beneath the pictures. The corner of a wicker chair is visible at the left.
NotesSubject Note: These are the same girl and doll as pictured in 1995.36.1573. (Agins 7/30/2013)Subject Note: In 1995.36.1579, the doll in this photograph appears under a Christmas tree in what presumably was the living room of the Armstrong home in Groton, Connecticut. In a different photograph of a different Christmas tree in the same room, the name Muriel Armstrong appears on a blackboard. It seems likely this little girl is Muriel Armstrong, who was born on Jun 25, 1914. Her parents were David F. Armstrong and Helen Armstrong. (Finlay 11/20/2013)
