DescriptionA man sits on a wicker chair with a little girl sitting on his lap. They hold what appears to be a picture book. The man is dressed in a suit and smokes a pipe. The girl is wearing a short dress and has a pendant around her neck. Sheer curtains hang at a window in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The man in this photograph is presumably David F. Armstrong. The girl is his daughter Muriel. The distinctive wicker chair appears in other photographs of the interior of the Armstrong family home in Groton, Connecticut. The object at the far right is the corner of the cabinet of a large record player. Armstrong and his daughter may be looking at a song book. David F. Armstrong was born in 1883 and died in 1960. Muriel Armstrong was born June 15, 1914. (Finlay 11/20/2013)
