DescriptionScenes in Old Lyme and New Haven, Connecticut, including numerous views of 237 Church Street, New Haven and Salisbury House on McCurdy Avenue, Old Lyme, the residences of Professor Edward Elbridge Salisbury and his wife. Other views include the Old Lyme Congregational Church, Lyme Street in Old Lyme, the Duck River, Watch Rock and buildings of Yale University. Some negatives include oxen, horse-drawn vehicles, stone walls, elm trees, a water tower, a well, and a pergola. One negative includes the photographer's shadow.

NotesHistorical Note: One envelope bears the imprint of "The Filley Studio / Hubinger Building / New Haven", probably the firm that developed at least some of the negatives. Presumably the negatives are the work of an amateur photographer, possibly George Grant McCurdy. (Finlay 3/27/02)
