DescriptionThe exterior of Baxter's Painting and Decorating store, located at 50 Church Street in Hartford, is shown. A show window on either side of the front entrance contain displays relating to a political campaign. A framed photo of Governor Holcomb appears in one window with a caption reading "Holcomb's Record Deserves Your Vote". Another framed photo with the caption "Hon. George A. Quigley Republican Candidate For Congress" appears in the other window. Above the entrance, another sign reads "WALLPAPER SALE".
NotesDate Note: This photograph can be dated based on the two posters in the shop's display. Governor Marcus H. Holcomb ran for re-election in 1918, and George A. Quigley ran for Congress during that same year. (Agins 8/16/2013)
