NotesSubject Note: Service records from a book in the CHS library, "Record of Service of Connecticut Men in the Army and Navy of the United States During the War of the Rebellion." : Michael Kelly of Sharon enlisted 29 July 1862; mustered in 11 September 1862. He served in the Second Regiment Connecticut Volunteers Heavy Artillery. Mustered in as 1st Sergeant; promoted to 2nd Lieutenant of Company F, 5 March 1864; promoted from 1st Lieutenant Company L, 5 March 1865; Major by bevet 2 April 1865; mustered out 18 August 1865. The man standing behind the two men is tentatively identified as Lt. Daniel Monson. The only record for a Monson in the Record is David C. Monson of Torrington. David C. mustered in the same day as Michael Kelly, and was also in the Second Regiment Connecticut Volunteers Heavy Artillery.
