DescriptionA large gothic revival house with a tour is surrounded by trees. The front door is open and a man sits on the porch holding a newspaper in his hand. A dog lies at his feet. At the right are three children and a donkey. One boy holds a battledore or racquet. The house is surrounded by a grassy lawn and ornamental shrubs. A dirt road or driveway is in the foreground.
Label TextThis estate in Westport, Connecticut was the country house of Morris Ketchum (1796-1880). The estate was over 100 acres, and was located about a mile north of the village, and was known for its beautiful landscaping and exceptional breeds of cattle and domestic animals.
