DescriptionMiniature portrait of a young man with brown hair and brown eyes. The man is wearing a white stock and shirt with a black jacket. The miniature is under glass, in a wooden frame that has is painted black on the outer rim.
Label TextWilliam Hazen Rogers was a highly regarded silversmith of Hartford, Connecticut. Rogers started off as a partner in Church & Rogers, and became senior partner in his family's silverware company, Rogers Brothers. In 1847, Rogers Brothers was the first in the country to successfully apply the process of electroplating to the manufacture of silver-plated flatware on a commercial basis.
