DescriptionHalf-length miniature portrait of a woman with dark brown hair and eyes. She is wearing a black off-the-shoulder dress with a pleated, pointed bodice and narrow upper sleeves, embellished with tabs.
Label TextFrances Elizabeth Eldridge was born in New London, Connecticut in1806. She married the distinguished Connecticut lawyer and judge, Loren Pinckney Waldo Sr. in 1825 in Tolland, Connecticut and they had five children together. This portrait is attributed to Frances's brother, Charles William Eldridge.
