DescriptionA one and one-half story gambrel roofed, center chimney house stands on a small rise . The gable end has three windows across the first floor, two large and two small across the second, with one in the peak. The side door and front door both have transom lights above them. Fields or meadows surrounded by a fence are in the background. A piece of farm equipment is in the left foreground. Trees and what appears to be a Virginia split-rail fence are at the right.
Object number1964.8.4
NotesDate Note: The drawing was not reproduced in Whitefield's book, Homes of our Forefathers (1882) but the paper is identical to that used for preliminary drawings for that book, so it appears likely that it was made at the same time. (Finlay 11/30/2013)
