DescriptionA clapboard, center chimney house one room deep has an added leanto at the back. There are three steps leading to the front door. There are five windows across the front. The house is surrounded by a grassy lawn and there is a large bush on the right front corner of the house, and a large tree in front of the house by the sidewalk. A dirt street is in the left foreground.
NotesDate Note: The drawing was reproduced as a tinted lithograph in Whitefield's book, Homes of our Forefathers, in 1882. The final lithograph differs signficantly from this preliminary drawing and appears to incorporate features from Whitefield's drawing of a house on Lafayette Street, Hartford. (Finlay 11/30/2013)
