DescriptionA young girl wearing a necklace, a broad-brimmed hat, a full dress, and possibly a pinafore poses on a porch beside a banister railing. The subject is the artist's daughter, Caroline Weir Ely, on the porch of their Branchville, Connecticut home.
NotesHistorical Note: This drypoint was made by Julian Alden Weir in 1889. It was reprinted by Carolyn Weir Ely, his daughter, in 1911.
