DescriptionBust length miniature portrait a woman seen in profile facing to the right. She has a rosy complexion and her hair is completely covered by a white bonnet with a black ribbon and thin black strings tied into a bow under her chin. She wears a gold necklace tied tight to her neck, and a white shawl over a gray dress.

The miniature is set in a square black wooden frame with a gold metal border around the portrait. The backing of the frame is a black paper board nailed to the wooden edges with a metal wire stretched across center and attached to suspension loops on sides;

NotesObject Note: This is miniature is one of eight that George Dudley Seymour commisioned Mildred Jordan to paint, most based on various portraits in his possession. The subject, Abigail Hurlburt Welles, is Seymour's maternal great great grandmother.
