DescriptionView of the intersection of two streets. A brick building at the right has a sign that reads "HARTFORD PUBLIC BATHS". Othr signs read: "You Help Protect America / Buy War Bonds and Stamps" and "SILBERMAN-HAHN CORP. / LEAF TOBACCO" "TYDOL" "AMOCO". A large storage tank is in the background. A fire hydrant is on the paved sidewalk in the foreground. Electric street lights and leafless trees, apparently elm trees, line the street. A high dirt embankment, probably the dike along the Connecticut River, is at the left of each photograph.
NotesSubject Note: The inscription on the envelope suggests that the photographs were taken to document the scene of an automobile accident, but no accident is visible in the photographs. (Finlay 2/1/2014)
