DescriptionWoman's chemise of white cotton with crocheted trim around the short (about four-inches) gathered sleeves and around the wide neckline. The crochet work extends to a point at center front. It also extends to a point at the shoulder of the neckline and at the top of the arm from the sleeve openings, so that these points meet at the top of the shoulder. The sleeves are set with raglan seams. The front and back panels of the chemise are gathered at the neckline. A narrow drawstring run through the crochet controls the neckline. The chemise is pieced selvage-to-selvage at the lower sides to achieve the required width for the flare. The hem is 7/8 inch deep.
