DescriptionA political campaign poster for the presidential and vice-presidential campaign of 1852. Bust-length portraits of the two men, both wearing costs, vests, ties, and shirts are framed by oval medallions with elaborate borders linked by a shield. The borders are inscribed: "FRANKLIN PIERCE." and "WILLIAM R. KING." Above the portraits, an eagle stands on a globe of the world. Two American flags on staffs are on either side of the globe. Seventeen stars are in the field behind the eagle. Fringed draperies held in place by cords with tassels frame the image. Below the portrait are views of the United States Capitol and the White House. The rectangular borders are inscribed: "CAPITOL." AND "PRESIDENT'S HOUSE." Medallions with stars and braid frame the lower portion of the image.
