DescriptionPiles of dirt and crushed stone are on either side of trolley tracks on wooden trestles. Wheelbarrows are in the left foreground. Shovels are nearby. Brick and stone commercial buildings and office buildings line the street. Signs read: "Public Market Co." "Employment Office." Men and a fire hydrant are on the sidewalk at the right. Horse-drawn vehicles are on the left. A gas or kerosene street light hangs from a pulley.
