DescriptionMonumental room with stone walls and floor. Electric lights and chandeliers hang from the coffered ceiling. Additional electric lamps are on top of bookcases. Stairs at the left lead to a balcony or mezzanine with additional shelving. Chairs and tables for readers and desks for staff are at the right. Wastebaskets are at the right. Books are on desks. A coat rack and a whisk broom are at the far right. A card catalogue is in the background. Chandeliers in the lobby are visible through a window at the back wall.
