DescriptionBrick commercial buildings and utility poles line a city street. Some buildings have awnings. A policeman in uniform stands near trolley tracks. Other men and women are on the sidewalks and are crossing the road. Some carry briefcases. A boy on roller skates is near a fire hydrant at the right. The striped pole nearby probably indicates the presence of a barbershop. Men on scaffolding are posting an advertisement on a billboard. Automobiles and trolleys are in the background. The skyscraper in the distance is Travelers Tower. Signs read: "Strand", "Fishers", "Battey's", and "Longley's / Lunch." An American flag at half staff flies from the roof of the G. Fox store at the left.
NotesSubject Note: The Strand Theatre was located at 1017 Main Street. Fishers Inc. sold coats and suits at 1031 Main Street. Bill Battey sold shoes at 1023 Main Street. Longley's Lunch Inc. had restaurants at 1037 Main Street, and 12 & 14 Union Place.
