DescriptionMen and women walk on paved sidewalks and cross the street. A trolley car has signs that read: "Blue Hills" and "To / Ball / Grounds." Trolley tracks are in the road, and trolley wires cross overhead. Automobiles are at the right and in the distance. The gothic structure at the right is the Wadsworth Atheneum; the large stone office buildings beyond it are the Travelers Insurance Company and Aetna Life Insurance Company. On the left, theaters have signs that read: "Polis / Superior Vaudeville / Supreme Picture Plays" and "[N]ew / Palace." American flags fly from some buildings. A water tower in the background has lettering that reads: "Sage Allen / & Co. / Dry Goods." Electric lights along the street. Some signs have electric light bulbs in them.
