DescriptionWoman's clogs with a hinged wooden sole, 3/4-inch heel, and a slit leather vamp with a four-eyelet tie. The upper has a square opening across the instep, and is bound with brown cotton tape; this same tape is used for the shoe strings on one of the clogs. The leather has a brown-black finish; it is nailed to the wooden sole along the sides, with an extra reinforcing leather strip under the nails. The upper is lined with what appears to be a cotton warp, wool weft fabric. The wooden sole is split across the ball of the foot and hinged with leather to create some flexibility.
