DescriptionWoman's clog with a wooden sole carved so that the back of the shoe is raised on a 7/8-inch heel and the front is raised 1/2 inch. The upper is thin leather and gradually slopes away from the front to the back of the foot. The fabric lining is probably cotton; the binding is totally worn away. There is a 1 5/8-inch strap of woven tape (like that used in upholstery) mounted across the top of the instep, below the toe area. The upper is nailed to the sole, with a reinforcing strip of linen or cotton tape. There is one fabric tape tie mounted near the heel.
