DescriptionWoman's two-piece day dress, consisting of a bodice (.a) and a skirt (.b), of white cotton printed with small black flowers with leaves. The bodice is below-hip-length, with a curved bottom edge that is longer in front than in back. The bottom edge is edged with a self-fabric ruffle. Underneath a center front placket printed with a black and white Greek key pattern, seven mother-of-pearl buttons fasten the bodice opening. The turn-down collar is about three inches wide. The narrow sleeves are trimmed at the wrists with self-fabric ruffles below a band of the Greek key print. The bodice is unlined.
The skirt is flat in front and cartridge-pleated around the sides and back. It opens at center back. The skirt has a 12-inch-deep flounce around the bottom, topped by a band of the Greek key print. The flounce is also bordered with the Greek key print, with strips of the print extending vertically from the lower band, every 6 1/2 inches. The skirt is unlined.
