NotesSubject Note: Victor Corse Thorne was born in 1871 in Florence, Italy. He was Harriet and Jonathan Thorne's first child. He was also Rosalie Thorne McKenna's grandfather--her father, Henry, was his son.

Constituent Note: Jeremiah Gurney was a New York City-based photographer who established a daguerrian studio in 1840, switching to paper processes in 1853. He was known for photographing society's elite.
