NotesSubject Note: The New Haven Grays were formed as a militia unit. At the start of the Civil War, they enlisted as part of the Second Regiment of Connecticut Volunteer Infantry. They took part in nineteen engagements, including the Battles of Bull Run and Gettysburg. (Finlay 5/11/2012)
