NotesSubject Note: William A. Lincoln was from New Haven, Connecticut. He enlisted and was mustered into the First Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Heavy Artillery Company H on May 23, 1861 as Corporal. He was promoted to Sergeant on October 15, 1861. He was promoted to First Lieutenant of Company D on March 24, 1862. He was transfered to Company F on September 1, 1864. He was wounded on August 5, 1864. He was promoted to Captain on November 8, 1864. On April 9, 1865 he was promoted to Major by brevet. He was mustered out on September 25, 1865. (Ruocco, 04/21/12)
