NotesAttribution Note: Previously, this had been attributed to J. Denison Crocker. While undergoing conservation treatment at Williamstown Art Conservation Center in 2012, an infrared photograph was taken of the verso, where a pencil inscription was visible but not legible. According to the photograph, the inscription reads: "Done by / W.N. Adams / 1861 / Norwich Ct", with a diamond shaped graphite border around everything except the "Done by".
