DescriptionOval portraits of the first fifteen presidents of the United States. Female allegorical figures representing Liberty (with a Liberty cap on a pole) and Justice (with scales and a sword) are at the upper left and right. Four American flags and two eagles are grouped at the top of the composition. Two additional eagles with shields are at the lower left and right. The frames of the presidential portraits are inscribed as follows: "GEORGE WASHINGTON. - 1789 to 1797." "JOHN ADAMS. - 1797 to 1801." "THOS. JEFFERSON. - 1801 to 1809."
