NotesSubject Note: Lewis B. Sturges of New Haven enlisted in the Third Connecticut Volunteer Infantry on April 24 1861 and mustered in as a private on May14 1861. He mustered out on August 12 1861. He then enlisted in the First Connecticut Volunteer Heavy Artillery on January 13 1862 and mustered in as a second lieutenant on March 13 1862. He was promoted to first lieutenant on December 10 1864. He was mustered out on September 25 1865.
