DescriptionPortrait of a man wearing eyeglasses and a high collared shirt with a jacket and necktie. He has a sparse beard. The gilt mat is rectangular with rounded edges at upper left and right; it is plain and undecorated. The deep wine red silk pad is plain. The case has a central design of a woman holding a cornucopia of flowers surrounded by scrollwork within a cartouche within a rectangular rule.
NotesSubject Note: The daguerreotype is part of a collection of the Allen, Collins, and Hamersley families and the sitter is probably a member of one of those families. He does not obviously resember any of the known members. (Finlay 4/3/21012)
