DescriptionBust-length portrait of an older man wearing a high collared shirt. The brass mat is nonpareil in shape and has a pebbled surface. The red velvet pad has a central leaf with a border of leaves. The case has a floral design surrounded by a cartouche within a scrollwork border.
NotesSubject Note: The daguerreotype is part of a collection of photographs of the Allen, Collins, and Hamersley families. It is probable that the sitter is a member of one of those families. He bears some resemblance to John Allen. (Finlay 4/3/2012)
