DescriptionNaval officers and civilians are dining at tables with white tablecloths in the interior of a room with patterned draperies. The men wear suits or naval uniforms. Some wear eyeglasses, some are smoking cigars. Silverware, dishes, water glasses, and bouquets of flowers are on the tables. Hats hang on a hat rack. AFrican American waiters wearing white jackets appear in one photograph. In another photograph, naval officers stand at attention, apparently on a parade ground. Men wearing Sphinx temple hats are on a reviewing stand. One photograph is a portrait of Lieutenant Commander Ralph E. Ashton.
