DescriptionTray from the lounge of the Hotel Bond, possibly circa 1940s. The front of the tray has an image of a red rooster and two martini glasses set against a cream background, with a red border. An inscription at the lower area of the tray reads, "BOND / AIR CONDITIONED / LOUNGE / HARTFORD, CONN".
The Bond Hotel opened in September of 1921 and was sold in 1965 to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese. http://www.bondballroom.com/?page_id=150
Additionally, the tray has a maker's mark (sticker) which reads, "SOCIAL SUPPER TRAYS / TRADEMARK REG. / U.S. PAT. OFF. / THE AMERICAN ART WORKS, INC. COSHOCTON, OHIO".
"Social Supper" was originally a tray division of The American Art Works, Inc., until in 1956 the division was bought and moved to Dresden, Ohio. http://www.socialsupper.com/history.htm
