DescriptionWoman's purse of wool cross stitch worked on linen canvas. The design is abstract, worked in swirling patterns of brown ecru on tan, with red, ecru, and blue bud-like motifs. A green silk-covered cord covers the seams and edges the top. More cord is strung through brass rings along the top and extends into carrying handles. Two tassels hang from the sides; they are made of variegated green chenille yarns ending in green silk-covered balls and headed by green silk-covered wooden tops. The purse is lined with dark green silk.
