DescriptionReproduction of a portrait painting, three-quarter length, of a woman wearing a dress and what looks like furs, and a plumed hat. The background of the painting is an outdoor scene. The canvas is unframed and signed "A. Muller-Ury."
NotesConstituent Note: A. Muller-Ury, the signature on the painting, refers to Adolfo Muller-Ury (1862-1947), a Swiss-American painter. He was most known for his portraits and impressionistic paintings of roses and still lifes. Some of his famous sitters included President McKinley, General Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt and many members of New York's elite.

From New York State's Prominent and Progressive Men: An Encyclopaedia of Contemporaneous Biography, Volume 3.

Subject Note: The painting was reproduced in the Broadway Magazine, March 1904, p. 462 as "Portrait of a Lady." The sitter was Mrs. Frances Huntington Erhart, who died in 1902.
