DescriptionPink kid leather slippers with a low Louis heel. The upper is bound with pale pink silk tape. They have a continuous leather sole. The interior is lined with plain-woven linen. The soles are straight, but the pattern of wear suggests that ".a" was worn on the left foot, and ".b" was worn on the right foot.
NotesHistorical Note: Huldah Foote (1791-1881) purchased these shoes one summer in about 1810 while she was teaching school on Long Island.
