DescriptionArchitectural plans for a two-story Colonial Revival stone residence with Chateauesque and Italian Renaissance influences. The home has a random ashlar foundation, concrete belt course, irregular stone quoins, entablature, and widely overhanging hipped roof with wood brackets. There are two cross-gable wings, each with hipped roofs. The home has three round pedimented dormers and two half-round dormers on the facade, a half-round dormer on the east (side) elevation, a round pedimented dormer on the west (side) elevation, and half-round and shed dormers on the south (rear) elevation. Fenestration throughout the home is a mix of paired or tripartite casement and fixed multi-pane sash. The majority of window openings have concrete sills and are framed by irregular stone quoins. Windows on the first-floor level have splayed stone lintels with prominent keystones, concrete hoods, or concrete arches above. Above the entry there is a three-sided bay window with copper-sheathed hipped roof. There is a multi-pane picture window with concrete hood on the first story of the south elevation and a concrete balcony with wood balustrade on the second. A full-width, overhanging one-story porch with slate hipped roof is located above the basement-level three-bay garage. The porch has a wood balustrade, supports, and brackets. the terrace on the first floor of the south elevation has a concrete balustrade. The home has a one-story porte cochere constructed of random-coursed ashlar with concrete detailing. The feature has a granite curb, semi-rectangular supports, flat roof, and parapet wall. Attached to the front of the porte cochere is an iron and corrugated wire glass marquise. The entry is flanked by small multi-pane windows and has an arched wood panel door with rectangular multi-pane window and arched concrete door surround.
Ninety-five drawings are included in the set; north, south, and combined east and west elevations; foundation and drainage, steel framing, basement, first-floor, second-floor, roof, and site plans; as well as a variety of section, interior detail, and mechanical systems drawings. The basement plan indicates the central hall, play room, billiard room, heater room, chauffeur's room, garage, preserve closet, and elevator machine room, as well as a variety of storage areas for wood, coal, etc. The first-floor plan includes the entry porch, vestibule, entry hall, elevator, living room, library, dining room, serving pantry, kitchen, service hall, larder, laundry room, servants' room, bathroom, drying porch, servants' veranda, sun room, rear terrace, and assorted closets. The second-floor plan has a central hall and landing, eight chambers, four wardrobes, six bathrooms, three linen closets, a sewing room, two dressing rooms, elevator, rear balcony, and a number of small closets.
