DescriptionView of a parade on Main Street, Hartford, looking south. Units include policemen and the Governor's Footguard, both wearing uniforms and hats. The Governor's Footguard band is playing several different instruments, including tubas, trombones, and French horns. Spectators line both sides of the street. In the foreground, a policeman in uniform is riding a bicycle. At left, some trees are visible, and there appears to be a reviewing stand decorated with bunting at the side of the street. On the right are several commercial buildings, some with striped awnings, including the Phoenix Bank, the State Bank building, and the Connecticut Mutual Life Building. There are church steeples visible along the right side of the street. There are utility poles and wires visible, and there are trolley tracks in the street.
NotesDate Note: There are no business names visible on buildings to determine a more concise date; the start date of 1908 was determined by the State Bank building on the right, which was built in 1908.
