Description[First Aid Kit consisting of a khaki cotton bag with snaps on the flap for cover; two long strips of khaki cloth are attached ot the bag so it could be tied around a person's waist. The bag (.a) contains various medical supplies, including: (.b) box containing one forty-inch triangular bandage; (.c) bottle of iodine; (.d) box of plain absobent gauze; (.e and .f) four-inch bandage compresses; (.g) three-inch bandage compresses; (.h) two-inch bandage compresses; (.i) one-inch adhesive compresses; (.j) ammonia inhalents; (.k,.l,.m) wooden tourniquet sticks; (.n) linen sling; (.o) what appears to be red lipstick (?); (.p) pad of identification tags; (.q-.r) two small pencils.
Some of the medical supplies are printed with: "Mine Safety Appliance Co. Pittsburgh, Pa."; others are printed with: "Distributed by the American Red Cross".]
NotesHistorical Note: This first aid kit was distributed by the American Red Cross for people to keep on hand in case of civil emergency during World War II.
