DescriptionPocket made of triangles of various late eighteenth-century printed cottons, arranged randomly and whipstitched together. The predominant colors are brown, madder red, and some blue, and patterns are generally floral in some manner. There are also a few non-representational geometric prints. The slit in the pocket is nine inches long and it is bound with a dark brown print. The outer edge of the pocket is bound with three different prints. The top edge is bound with the same print as the slit. The waist tapes are plain-woven cotton. The patchwork is backed with plain-woven, undyed linen, which is also used to border the inside of the plain brown cotton pocket back.
