DescriptionA small drawstring purse made with wool threads stitched over a plain-woven linen that has had threads withdrawn to form a grid. The threads are covered with fine crewel (worsted) threads stitched in a figure eight around and through the linen, with the colors worked in such a manner as to form diamond patterns. The predominate colors are pale olive green, dark olive green, salmon pink, light brown, and blue. The bag is gathered at the bottom, and was once decorated with a wool tassel (very little remains.) Threaded through the casing along the top edge is a wool cord in variagated (probably just faded) madder red and tan colors. The bag is unlined, so it has a lacey appearance.
