DescriptionDark blue, plain-woven, cotton-polyester fabric unifies all elements of this uniform. The cap is styled like an airline pilot's cap, with a slanted, flat crown rising in front over the shiny black plastic visor. The straight sides of the cap are circumscribed by a stiff black open-weave braid. A gold cord crosses the front of the cap, hooking at either side to a brass (?) button stamped with the Amtrak logo. The interior of the crown is lined in clear plastic. Brown leather-like vinyl sweatband lines the edge.
NotesOwner Note: Donald J. Malia, Sr. worked for three different railroads from 1941 until 1985, including the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, the Penn Central railroad, and Amtrak.
