DescriptionSpotlights shine on a large billboard that reads: "Merry Christmas / The Great DANBURY FAIR / LEAHY'S CITIES SERVICE / John W. Leahy". A figure of Santa Claus stands in a horse-drawn sleigh atop the sign. A giant candy cane is at the left; a Christmas tree with electric lights on it is at the right. It is night.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
