DescriptionA mural depicts a rocket taking off, stages separating, a lunar module touching down or taking off, and a space capsule with a parachute spashing down in the ocean while a helicopter hovers nearby. Flags fly from the top of the panel. An amusement park ride with a series of capsules is in the foreground.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
