DescriptionFood stands line the road leading from the entrance of the Danbury Fair. Signs read: "AL'S / FRENCH FRIES" "GEORGE'S POPCORN" "[POP]CORN / YOU LOVE". A sign on a large building at the left reads: "1949 DANBURY FAIR". People are riding in a train of cars on the road, followed by men leading horses. Giant candy canes are on a grassy lawn at the right. A weathervane in the shape of a running horse is on the roof of a building in the foreground. Automobiles and buses are parked in parking lots in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
