DescriptionSmall children, apparently boys, are playing on slides in a playground. Some children appear to be African American. Men, most wearing overcoats and hats, look on. One man is smoking a cigarette. Picnic tables and a grassy lawn are in the foreground. A trash can, tents, flags, utility poles, and exhibition buildings are in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The Danbury Fair was an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
